Dr. Jeffery Foran is a broadly trained environmental scientist with expertise in ecology, toxicology, risk assessment, and environmental policy. He received a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Florida and was a Post-doctoral fellow at that institution. Dr. Foran has nearly 20 years of experience in academia and in the private, non-profit sector. He was Staff Scientist in the Great Lakes Office of the National Wildlife Federation, Director of the Environmental Health and Policy Program at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Executive Director ofthe ILSI Risk Science Institute in Washington, D.C., and Director of the UW-Milwaukee WATER Institute. Dr. Foran has served as an advisor and consultant to the World Resources Institute, the Hoosier Environmental Council, the Natural Resources Council of Maine, the Southern Environmental Law Center, Coast Alliance, the U.S./Canadian International Joint Commission, the World Health Organization, the U.S.EPA, the General Accounting Office, and the Department of Defense. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Einstein Institute for
Science, Health, and the Courts, and Vice President/President-elect of
the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). He has written
or edited four books and over 50 technical papers.
